SOC Enail Concentrate Rig Kit Reviews
by Vaporsolo.com Staff : Mark Donley
What it is
For readers who are not familiar with the term SOC: it stands for System on Chip. It’s this chip that allows the product to easily reach the selected temperature, making it unnecessary to carry a blowtorch and glass rig with you The SOC Enail is a rig, i.e. a device for vaporizing essential oils and concentrates. It is also often called a vapor rig, oil rig, or concentrate pipe. Like with a bong, the concentrated vapor is filtered through the water at the product’s base.
What powers the Soc Enail Kit is a ceramic heating element that enables intelligent operation via temperature control. There are four different temperature settings.
The Pros
Let’s have a look at some of this product’s best features:
Price
The manufacturers of the SOC claim that their product comes with a combination of all the top features offered by similar devices. Yet this product sells for between $100 and $200 less than its main competitors. That should make it the best value for money vapor rig on the market. But can the company deliver on this promise? Read on to find out.
Lightweight
The first thing we noticed when picking up the box was how little it weighed. With everything inside it weighs less than 5 lbs. While the box itself is not meant to be a travel case, it’s fairly secure and if you want to travel with the device, you can easily throw it into a suitcase or bag. Just remember to first remove the water.
Easy to Operate
When you have been vaping some or other exotic concentrate for an hour or so, you don’t want a device for which you need a Ph.D. in electronics to switch it off. In this regard, the SOC scores high points because it’s really easy to operate. To turn it on or off you click the button 5 times. To cycle through the different temperature settings you click it 3 times. To initiate heat up you hold the button for 3 seconds. And to stop heat up you again hold it for 3 seconds. Even our pet gorilla learned to do it in two days.
Compact
With a total height of only 6.25 inches, the SOC Enail is one of the shortest E Rigs available on the market right now. This alone might be enough reason for some people to buy it because it can easily fit into a relatively small purse or bag.
Heat Settings
With a maximum temperature setting of 600° F, the SOC is one of the hottest vapor rigs on the market. Combine that with a ceramic chamber that helps to ensure the maximum amount of vapor at all times, any oil or concentrate you put inside is virtually guaranteed to provide a top-quality experience when you start drawing out.
The maximum temperature setting is also a good option when you have a really large load.
The SOC has three other temperature settings: 450° F, 500° F, and 550° F.
The lowest setting of 450° F is recommended for a small load. The other two are suitable for medium and large loads, respectively.
We initially kicked off on the blue (low) setting (450° F) but it felt inadequate for good vapor production. The 550° F and 600° F settings caused really big clouds. While some smokers might love this, we didn’t like the taste. Adjusting it to 500° F proved to work much better for us, and that is where it stayed for the week. You might not agree, but that’s why there are other settings.
What is a further plus here is that the SOC PEAK Enail Kit uses intelligent temperature calibration. This definitely delivers a more consistent experience if one is a regular user.
Peak Sesh Mode
One feature of the SOC vape that we found particularly useful is the sesh mode, which boosts heat and adds another 15 seconds to your session. This works great when you simply want to increase the heat, but also when you want to share the device with your friends.
To activate sesh mode is very simple: you just double-click when the SOC has reached its target temperature. And if you want to extend it again later (as often as you want), just hit the button twice every time.
Easy to Clean
Any vapor rig user will be well aware of how dirty things can get after a couple of uses. Although it gets as dirty as other rigs, we found the SOC relatively easy to clean* because it can be taken apart completely. Start by first removing the glass chamber at the top of the device and cleaning that by soaking it in isopropyl alcohol and then rinsing it with water. The atomizer is also quite easy to clean because it can be fully disassembled if you want to make sure it’s cleaned properly.

What Are the Cons of Using This Device?
We didn’t have many issues with The SOC Enail Kit, but there were nevertheless a few things that bugged us.
What the beep were they thinking?
To some readers, this might be a non-issue, but others might not like it all. We are talking about the beep. The SOC beeps when starting heat up, and it double-beeps when complete. We didn’t mind, but one of our friends who is hard of hearing said he would have preferred the haptic touch option offered by a few of the other smart rigs out there. The loud beep could also be a bit embarrassing if you don’t want everyone else to know what you are doing.
Ceramic Cup Hard to Clean
When we first began using the SOC, we used the ceramic cup that came pre-installed. While the flavor was excellent, it proved immensely hard to keep clean. Around the middle of the week, we decided to give the quarts bowl a try. This proved to be the right decision because it was a lot easier to clean.
The Bottom Line - Our User Experience
The Soc Enail Kit produces a vaping experience that compares well with some other products that cost double or even three times the price. We loved the small size, the ease of use, and the ease of cleaning (after switching the cup). For most people, the few cons will not be dealbreakers. Nevertheless, make sure you read the relevant section above - you might just be one of the few who dislike the fairly loud beep or the hard to clean ceramic cups.
